Drovers Rest Chalet

It could be better Positive: Best location, next to restaurants and opposed the supermarket. It has heater throughout. It’s spacious. Negative: The housekeeping was bare minimum. You need to prep your own beds, clean almost everything after yourself. The bins were dirty, obviously were never cleaned other than the guests taking the bags out. The food scrap from last guests was still in the dishwasher and I had to scrub the pans to take the charred food off.

Great location and cosy accommodation. Positive: Location of property is great. Close to restaurants. Easy drive to Mt Hotham. House is warm and comfortable. Toilet is separate from bathroom which is great. Negative: The property could do with more attention to detail in regards to cleaning. The guest do most of the work make beds and place laundry ready for collection, take rubbish out etc. No major cleaning issues just attention to detail.

Positive: Drovers Rest was a beautiful spot to make many memories with our family. The location being out of Mt Hotham but still close enough to do the trip multiple times a day if needed was perfect for us. The owner was very happy to answer any questions leading up and we found her very helpful. Negative: The only downfall however was the cleanliness of the Chalet. There were a few things not cleaned like the little fire pit on it had cigarettes, dishes weren’t properly cleaned nor was the toilet bin which had been used previously by the people before us. However when the cleaners were contacted this was promptly fixed but still not overly delightful to discover.

We wished we were staying for a week! Will come back for sure! Positive: Great spacious house. So warm and comfortable. Was hard to leave to go skiing!
